Written in my journal, I had reached another nadir. The details that lead to that place do not matter. What does and did matter was what I did about it. Like so many other decision gates in my time on your planet, one choice lead to survival and the other lead to death. Only difference this time was that it was not a melodramatic, histrionic illusion but, actual palpable fact.

With trembled, uncertain fingers, I got out my tools and tried to make noises. I failed. My equipment failed me too. So, slowly I began to gather the tools that would not fail me. And there was a huge learning curve. And I needed a project to get me to scale that curve.

I had a lot of original songs that I had previously recorded and never published. But, I felt that using original songs that were not fully fleshed out would not push me enough and I did not want to risk having stillborn children because I could not learn these new tools. Performing cover songs has always been a part of The Coil Of Sihn, and creating remixes from cover songs as well. This seemed a better way to go.

Covered In Blood And You is the result.

Alex Rossi, my son, gave me selections to cover that he wanted to hear, which included Duran Duran, Depeche Mode and Black Sabbath. Journey, A Perfect Circle and Nine Inch Nails came from me. Each song has a personal connection but also represents each stage of my learning, presented in order as each was recorded, culminating in the last track's remix that Justin Fisher(of Glitch Factor and SmithLee Studios) and myself collaborated on.
